The National Rites of Passage Institute

The National Rites of Passage Institute facilitates child, youth and community development through an African-centered Rites of Passage program that promotes identity, resiliency and village building. The National Rites of Passage Institute (NROPI) Youth & Community Building Conference, a national and international conference-convened in Baltimore, Maryland in 2013. This conference was a timely event in bringing us together to share successes; develop strategies to barriers; and identify best practices in the application of culturally based youth development, family, and community building through a grounded strategy of Rites of Passage.
